Obituary of Jaime Fulgencio

Fulgencio, Jaime "Jimmy" of Saginaw, MI passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Mary's of Michigan, Saginaw. He was 84 years old. Jimmy Fulgencio was born on January 31, 1930 in Saginaw to the late Silviano and Emilia (Mata) Fulgencio. He married Esther Barsenas on May 21, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Saginaw. He honorably served his country during the Korean War and continued his service as a member of the American Legion Post #500. Jimmy then worked for Grey Iron Foundry for 45 years retiring in 1992. The Lord had blessed Jimmy with many talents and he enjoyed sharing them with the music ministry at St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 40 years. His love for the Lord, music and his warm smile has touched many hearts; he will be dearly missed.
His memory will be treasured by his wife, Esther; nine children: Jaime Jr. (Irma), Teresa (Lorenzo) Tovar, Michael (Blanca), Steven, Marc (Anita), Javier, Rene, Judy and Mina Fulgencio; 36 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: George (Olga), Yolanda (Elidoro) Perez, Enrique, Edward, Silviano (Carol), Lupe, Hortensia, Arturo (Rosa) and Jose (Rosa) Fulgencio; sister-in-law, Nancy Fulgencio; also many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, Gerald; brother, Hector and an infant brother and sister.
FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Jimmy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Military Honors and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the American GI Forum.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off state) on both Monday, January 5, 2015 and Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Jimmy will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass.
