Obituary of Ardis I. Matthes

Matthes, Ardis I. of Saginaw Township passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. She was 81 years old. Ardis I. Ramage was born on February 21, 1933 in Pinnebog, Michigan to the late James and Marion (Huxtable) Ramage. She married Marshall E. Matthes on February 25, 1956 at the First Assembly of God, Saginaw. He survives her. Ardis was a faithful member of Saginaw First Assembly of God. She was a hand grinder at Fullerton Tool in Saginaw for many years. She loved to care and cook for her family, she also enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her husband, Marshall; brother, Edward James "EJ" Ramage; brothers-in-law: Donald (Bernadean) Matthes and Lloyd McKnight; sister-in-law, Carol Ramage; also many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ardis was preceded in death by sisters: Gladys (Glen) LePla, Althea McKnight and Beatrice (Otis) Cox; brother, Melvin Ramage; sisters-in-law: Audrey Ramage and Esther (Fred) Johnson. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Ardis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Saginaw First Assembly of God, 4570 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Kurt Cullison will officiate. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Township Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Ardis will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
