Joanne J. Israel -Thoel Sunrise: 9/13/1952 Sunset: 11/28/2014 Joanne walked thru the Pearly Gates of her eternal home on Friday November 28, 2014, She was greeted by her late husband, Rev Hurley Israel Sr, which predeceased her on March 8, 2006 after 31 years of a beautiful marriage. Joanne was born to the late Leo DeGroat and Marie (Guy) Fuller. She was a resident of Saginaw all of her life. She recently found happiness and married Jerome Thoel on September 13, 2014. He survives her. Joanne was a Member of the Anchor of Hope Church of God in Saginaw. Surviving besides her husband, Jerome, are her children: Penny (Fred) Schoch, Hurley (Bridgett Sansote), Darwin, Doyle (Sheri) Israel, Megan, Gabrielle, Jerry Jr, and Steve (Netta) Thoel; daughter-in-law, Tracie Christina; mother-in-law, Esther Dickerson; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren which includes: Joanne's pride and joy, Bentley Rey Israel; brother and sisters: Dorothy Middleton, Kenny (Saundra) Mack, Janet Nemeth, Leo (Dorothy) DeGroat, Fred (Rose) DeGroat, Sundy Geiser, Pamela (Herb) Saenz, and SueAnn (Jim) Waters. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, numerous family and friends. Joanne was predeceased in death by parents, Evelyn DeGroat and Bill Fuller, siblings: Darwin DeGroat, Blanche Boddy, Cheryl (Cheri) Premo, Ruth Hawley, Jean Edwards, and Jesse Mack; and her father- and mother-in-law, Rev. Herman and Betty Israel. The Israel Family would like to thank Heartland Home Care and Hospice, for your continued help and dedication. FUNERAL: Going Home Services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Bishop R.C. Popard will officiate. Per her family's wishes, a private interment will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Going Home Service. MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Israel-Thoel family wishes, care of Darwin Israel.
