I was sorry that I had not known that Marilyn had died until today. I am grateful for all that she did for us at Emmaus House, and I believe that at Emmaus House the goodness of Marilyn's life will be continued. Sister Marietta/Director of Emmaus House
Mrs. Dey was my elementary school teacher. I will always remember her having such a kind soul and a ambitious drive to teach us to the best of her ability. Mrs. Dey's memory will live on as being one of the best teachers with such a kind heart and a memorable drive to do her very best with her students. Much love and sympathy goes out to all her family and friends. She will be missed!
Marilyn would walk by our house daily as she was on her way to visit her mother. When the weather was bad I would drive her back to her home. Oftentimes she would not come with me saying she enjoyed the walk. We have not seen her for quite a while. She came to my mind last week and I prayed for her. Now just days later we see her obituary. She always made folks smile. She was kind and gentle. Our sons did not have her as their teacher but we remember her at Brucker school in Bridgeport.
Miss Dey was such a sweet soul. She was my second grade teacher at Harvey Kaufman in 1970. She taught my sister the following year. Many years later, I was thrilled to discover she would also teach both of my boys in the 90s. She was a wonderful, caring lady. I'm certain she made a lasting impression in many young lives. I know she did mine.
