Obituary of Leona C. Beck

Leona C. Beck of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at MidMichigan Stratford Village, with her family by her side. She was 92 years old. Leona C. Licht was born on April 27, 1922 in Elkton, Michigan to the late William and Dora Licht. She married the love of her life, Nelson R. Beck on August 24, 1946; he preceded her in death on June 25, 2014. Leona graduated valedictorian from Elkton High School and then attended Saginaw Business School. She worked as a lunch cashier for Weiss Elementary School, retiring after many years of service. Leona was an active and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and camping. She loved and cherished her children and grandchildren, making every family occasion and holiday special in her own way. Surviving are a son, Rob (Debbie) Beck of Dorr, MI; a daughter, a daughter, Barb (Lloyd) Bailey of Freeland, MI; five grandsons: Kevin and Randy Beck, Chris, Alec and Graham Bailey; a sister-in-law, Delores Kersten of Brooksfield, FL; a sister-in-law, Enid German. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Paulette Cummings will officiate. Burial will take place at Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Pigeon, Michigan. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service.
