Obituary of Joseph Paz Garcia

Joseph Paz Garcia of Carrollton, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan with his family by his side. He was 58 years old. Joseph Paz Garcia was born on May 12, 1956 in Flint, Michigan to the late Paz and Guadalupe (Zamora) Garcia. He was a 1975 graduate of Buena Vista High School. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Lydia Mejia on August 26, 1974, she survives him. He also received his Associate's Degree from Delta College studying Engineering and Computers Programming. Joe was employed by ProMet as a CMM Supervisor for many years. He was one of the funniest people ever and often enjoyed making others laugh. He was an avid sports fan, especially for his Michigan teams: the Tigers, Lions and Pistons. Above all, Joe loved and cherished his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Lydia Garcia of Carrollton; three children: José "Joe" (Jessica) Garcia of Saginaw, Salina Garcia (Carl Roberts) of Carrollton, Cynthia Garcia of Carrollton; four grandchildren: Sabrina Villanueva, Jordan Roberts, Dylan Garcia and Olivia Garcia; one great granddaughter, Cecelia, on the way; two sisters and one brother: Genevieve Wilburn, Dorinda (David) Warren, and Ricardo (Caroline) Garcia; and mama-in-law, Estella Nalevayko. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Carl Garcia Roberts. Honoring Joe's wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Garcia Family c/o Lydia Garcia.
