Obituary of Venancio Luna

LUNA, Venancio "Benny" Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital with his family by his side. He was 64 years old. Venancio Luna, Jr. was born on June 10, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Venancio and Dionicia "Nancy" (Lopez) Luna. Benny attended St. Joseph High School and retired from Malleable Iron after many years of dedicated service. He married the love of his life, Rosa G. Hernandez on November 28, 1986; she survives him. As a young man Benny enjoyed and was a phenomenal ballroom dancer. He was a member of Saginaw UAW Local 455. Benny enjoyed swimming and was a member of the YMCA. He was a current member of Beacon of Hope Church. Above all, Benny loved and cherished his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Rosa G. Luna of Saginaw; two sons: Jesse (Christina) Miramontes of Holland, Felipe Miramontes and fiancée Thanh Charlis of Holland; 9 grandchildren: Jose (Alexis) Miramontes, Suzanna Miramontes, Venancio Miramontes, Michael Cruz Griffor, Mark Miramontes, Tomas Miramontes, Nhan Charlis, Cruz Miramontes, and Tiger Miramontes; a great-grandson, Benson on the way; sister, Louisa (Alfred) Gutierrez of Saginaw; brother, Oscar (Shirley) Luna of Saginaw; a special cousin, Tony (Lucy) Villalobos of Waukegan, IL. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers- and sisters-in-law, extended family members and many near and dear friends.
VISITATION: Family and friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. Pastor Tucker Gunneman will officiate. Honoring Benny's wishes cremation will follow visitation. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Beacon of Hope Church, 2109 W. Michigan Ave.
