Obituary of Helen Chantaca

CHANTACA, Helen of Saginaw, Michigan, Passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison, with her family by her side. She was 77 years old. Helen Juarez was born on January 25, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Eliseo and Carolina (Mendoza) Juarez. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Women's Club. Helen loved and adored her three cats: Lola, Lulu and Sheshe; above all, Helen treasured spending time with her precious family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are two children: Caroline Martinez of Saginaw, and Marcos Martinez of Saginaw; two grandchildren: Marcos (Heather) Martinez of Birch Run, and Melissa Martinez of Saginaw; three brothers: Louis and Benny Juarez of Saginaw, and Joseph (Joyce) Juarez of South Bend, IN; Also surviving are an aunt in New York City, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Martinez. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Street. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends may call the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will be prayed Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Helen will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
