Obituary of Ellen M. Shank

SHANK, Ellen M. of Midland, Michigan, formerly of Carrollton passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 64 years old. Ellen M. Shank was born on July 23, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Warren C. and Ida (Westendorf) Shank. She worked for over 10 years at LMS in Midland. Ellen loved and was fascinated by the grace and elegance of horses, especially wild horses. She was a free spirit and enjoyed fishing, baking and making fudge. Ellen was also captivated by anything related to Disney. She had a beautiful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. Ellen will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Surviving are a sister, Alice L. Maxwell; brother, George W. Shank and his fiancé Stacey; three nieces and one nephew: Paula J. Forbes, Richard H. Forbes, Jr., Dawn L. (Scott) Lutz, Jane D. (Eric) Neering. Also surviving many great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Paul R. Hinz will officiate. Honoring Ellen's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m., Noon, until the time of the Service.
