Obituary of Florence K. Uphoff

UPHOFF, Florence K. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Brookdale Senior Living Center. She was 88 years old. Florence Kutsch was born on October 26, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late William and Cora (Scherzer) Kutsch. She married Donald L. Uphoff on May 3, 1947; he preceded her in death on June 28, 1990. Florence graduated from Arthur Hill High School. She then worked as a legal secretary and personal assistant to Attorney John W. Wolf for upwards of 27 years and with Joseph, Wolf, Endean & Stahle, P.C., and later with Braun Kendrick Finkbeiner, P.L.C. when the firms merged. She was a member of Women's National Farm and Garden, Peace Ladies Guild, and St. Luke's Hospital Guild. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting fine China. Surviving are sister, Marie J. Glick; six nieces and two nephews: Molly (Mark) Ryder, Ann M. Glick, Carol (Dick) Lounsbery, Jenny (Steve) Rumbaugh, Dr. Patricia Bergh, Sue Jeruski, Jeffrey (Val) Glick, and Jerry (Millie) Eurich; and special friends, Dr. Timothy and Nancy Smith. Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Don; two sisters: Erma Eurich and Esther Jeruski; brother, William Kutsch; nephew, Joe Jeruski; brother-in-law, Lawrence Glick; and sister-in-law, Melba Kutsch. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Rev. C. William Weis will officiate. According to Florence's wishes, cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at Peace Lutheran Church on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
