I know this little memory comes to you very late but I wasn't aware of Mrs Mastromarco's passing. My name is Cathy Wilson and I went to Merrill Park School in 1969. Mrs.Woods taught my class in the morning and Mrs. Mastromarco in the afternoon. We were the only class to have two teachers and they were both a delight. But the thing I remember the best is Mrs. Mastromarco's flaming red hair, infectious laughter and in her class you couldn't do the wrong thing. You may need to tweek things until the correct answer came to you but you were never wrong(as if wrong was a moral judgement and that was not allowed) she would try to teach you a new way until that glimmer came to your eyes and she knew you understood. She also had a habit of reading to us in the afternoon we were 5th and 6th graders (personally I believe that is unheard of for students that age) God bless her, she never did things or taught in the manner of other teacher's. The story my children will remember forever is, A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle. We had reading before bed at my house and not little golden books either. Reading that book to our class began my personal journey in reading. Many trips to many libraries and bookstores ending with fantasy books that began my journey into exciting unknown worlds. God blessed me to be in her class that year as soon my family would move and books became a wondrous refuge, now I have grandchildren and I'm still on an adventure of one kind or another. Thank you Mrs. Mastromarco.

To Vic and Dan,
I want to extend my condolences to both of you on the loss of your mother. Her loss will always be felt from this point forward but the love she shared for you and her grandchildren should also never be forgotten. You both come from a rich Mastromarco heritage that always placed a high value on "the family and it's importance as being a high priority". Embrace that and her presence will always be positively felt as it still does today for me when my mother also passed away.
Your cousin,
Bill Lipford
