LOPEZ, Amelia Marie of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on March 29, 2014 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. She was 87 years old. Amelia Marie Uribe was born on April 5, 1926 in Pigeon, Michigan to the late Augustine and Paula (Mena) Uribe. She married Pedro Lopez; he preceded her in death on April 30, 1987. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, People to People, and supported the Japanese Cultural Center. Amelia enjoyed traveling, but she enjoyed nothing more than spending time and feeding her family and friends. Surviving are her six daughters and three sons: Margaret (Michael) Williams, Irene (Rick) Swartz, Betty (John) Vetterle, Nancy (Rick) Suitor, Carol Vasquez, Frank Lopez, Arlene (James) Town, Ernest (fiancée, Vikki) Lopez, and Dennis (fiancée, Tammy) Lopez; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Mickey, Pibe, and Chuck; and many family members and friends. She was preceded in death by parents; husband of 42 years, Pedro; and brother, Robert Uribe. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Matthew Catholic Church, 511 W. Cornell Street. Sister Christine A. Gretka, CSJ will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Eulogy Service will take place on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. On Wednesday, Amelia will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
