Obituary of Gerald Taylor

TAYLOR, Gerald of Kochville, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 79 years old. Gerald Taylor was born in Carrollton, Michigan on February 11, 1935 to the late Bernard and Pearl (Bacon) Taylor. Gerald married Gail V. Walton on May 22, 1954; she preceded him in death on November 29, 2009. He was employed by General Motors for 34 years of service. In his younger years, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. In his later years, he enjoyed the casino, shopping, and eating out. Surviving are his two daughters and one son: Diane Perez, Ted (Cynthia) Taylor, and Marcia (Norm) Davis; five grandchildren: Kristie (Jeffery) Allen, Sara (Omar) Barnes, Norman III (Carrie) Davis, Emily Portno, and Anthony Perez; six great-grandchildren: Alex Taylor, Katrina Davis, Anthony and Joseph Tillman, Raeann Garcia, and little Omar; three great-great grandchildren: Lily and Anthony Perez and Skylar Acosta; two brothers, Robert (Betty) Taylor and Glen (Donna) Taylor; friend, Joyce Metiva; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Gail; son, Craig Taylor; grandsons: Zach and John Perez; and four sisters and four brothers: Tillie, Ed, Bernard, twins: Harold and Howard, Jane, Neder, and Chic. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Laura Bringder and staff, the employees and friends at Fresenius Dialysis, and the staff Cartwright Hospice Residence.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Donald L. Killey will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to American Heart Association. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
