Obituary of Elena Cecelia Castillo

CASTILLO, Elena Cecelia of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, and aunt went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities at the wonderful age of 93. Elena Cecelia Ortega was born on September 21, 1920 to the late Frederick Ortega and Helen Saldana in Vollmer, Colorado. She was married to Cervando Castillo on January 16, 1935. He predeceased her on May 14, 1969.
Cecelia enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. She was employed at Grey Iron for many years and later retired from First Savings and Loan. She was a loving mother to 13 wonderful children, 44 grandchildren, 119 great-grandchildren, and 31 great great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are 10 children: Ernest (Monica) Castillo, Yolanda (Oscar) Ortega, Elvira (William) Lull, Frederick (Patty) Castillo, Elaine Newman, Ronald Castillo, Sandra Castillo-Villanova, Judith (Antonio) Olgine, Marilyn (Jack) Campbell, Nanette (Randall) McCollum; two daughters-in-law: Celia Castillo and Maria Socorro Castillo; one son-in-law, Michael Flores Jr.; one brother, David (Chris) Saldana; one sister, Angie (Raul S.) Perez; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Cecelia was predeceased by her parents; husband of 34 years, Cervando; two sons: Richard and John Castillo; her daughter, Erlinda Flores; her sister, Irene Drew; two granddaughters: Michelle and Christine Castillo; and three grandsons: Ray Lomeli, Robert Flores, and Russel Lull.
FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. Cecelia will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
