Obituary of Raymond F. Soria

SORIA, Raymond F. of Saginaw, formerly of Pontiac passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at St. Francis Home. He was 89 years old. Raymond was born February 15, 1925 to the late Ramon and Carmen (Macias) Soria. He married the love of his life Mercedes Saucedo on September 11, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio. She survives him. Raymond was employed by General Motors at the Grey Iron Foundry and worked at a Core Setter and Oiler retiring after 42 years in 1987. He was an avid bowler, fishermen and loved to dance. He most of all loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Mercedes and five sons, Julian (Yoko) Soria, Michael (Lisa) Soria, Francisco (Suzette) Soria, Thomas (Carmen) Soria, and Joseph (Andra) Soria. His grandchildren; Tommy (Jennifer), Elena, Michael, Meagan, Heather, Frankie, Kara, Nicolas, Madeline, Ezra, Alex and Marc; great-grandchildren Adrianna, Mateo, Diego, Aster, Niko, Julian, Emma and Cullen. Also a brother, Julian and two sisters; Rosalie (Bob) Gomez and Belia, brother-in-law Archie Dale, and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by a brother William, three sisters Delores, Mary and Tillie and one brother-in-laws, Roy Saucedo. A special thank you to the staff at the St. Francis Home, who took such wonderful care of Raymond.
FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFM Cap will officiate. Rite of committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State) on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Raymond will lie in state at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass, .
