Obituary of Elsie C. Schade

SCHADE, Elsie C. of Saginaw, Michigan. Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan. She was 84 years old. Elsie C. Royle was born on March 21, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Clara (MacDonald) Royle.
Elsie attended St. Michael's Catholic High School in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated in 1947. She married Robert Schade on November 26, 1949 at Our Lady of Good Council in Cleveland, Ohio; he survives her.
Elsie was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and was an active member on the Prayer Line as well as providing dishes for funeral luncheons. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, but most of all, her grandchildren.
Surviving are husband of 64 years, Robert; four children: Robert Schade, Jr., William (Lynn) Schade, Diane (Mathias) Brown, and Nancy (Scott) Nizinski; five grandchildren: Rebecca Nizinski and fiancé, Dennis Miller, Rachel Nizinski, Matthew Brown, and Sarah and Adam Schade; three sisters-in-law: Anna Marie Schade, Joan Natoce, and Arlene Schade; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert Royle, Bernard Royle, and Jack Royle and sister, Margaret Royle.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary's of Michigan, ICU Floor 6 for their compassionate, loving care.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney, 6400 McCarty Road. Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate with Rite of Committal to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Friday evening, a Vigil Service will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday morning, Elsie will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
