Obituary of Elizabeth June Johnson

JOHNSON, Elizabeth "Betty" June of Saginaw passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Covenant-Cooper Medical Center. She was 93. Elizabeth was born November 26, 1920 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was married to Donald M. Johnson on January 12, 1942 in Napoleon, Ohio. Betty was employed at Jacobson's for 32 years, retiring in 1993. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church. Betty was a former member of the Germania Club and a proud graduate of Saginaw High School. Surviving Betty are her two sons Gary (Sharon) Johnson of Durango, Colorado, and Thomas (Pamela) Johnson of Saginaw. Also surviving are eight grandchildren Traci, Piper, Kimberly, Douglas, Kevin, Laura, Bridie, and Dustie. Additional survivors are her 11 great grandchildren Nicollette, Matthew, Meredith, Camden, Aidin, Maddie, Joshua, Alex, Peyton, Brady, Beckett and step-grandson Bryce, one cousin, one nephew and many dear friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Donald in January 1995, her sister Katherine in April 2011, and her son Richard in December 2011. FUNERAL: Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Mike Kemper will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at the graveside. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to attend the service. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service immediately following.
