I knew Ted from his high school and college days. At CMU, he was a roommate of mine during one year. That was a trip. After college, I would see him on occasions. Always stopped by at the Washing Well to get the car washed and listen to Ted's outstanding sense of humor. One great Christian man. Although I have not seen him in recent years, the memories of him will never fade away. Rest in peace old friend!

My cousin Ted was always such a wonderful guy. Then he found Terry and became his best ever. Terry, you brought out the absolute best in Ted and the job you've done in caring for him all these years is nothing short of extraordinary. You are such a giving and loving person which is why Ted adored you so much!
I remember about 7 years ago when my dad, Stew Francke, Sr. and I visited you at the cottage ... I had my girls with me who at the time were about 8 and didn't know you or Ted. I and they will never forget your generosity, creativity, and kindness in making them a picnic basket full of books and things to do ... what a wonderful and kind gesture.
My heart goes out to you as I know you will miss him, but please know what love and grace you brought to his life. Ted was a cool guy, a kind and dryly funny man, and he will be missed.
Love,
Kit

Ted was one of my best friends for 60 years, during which time we had many adventures. At 16 we owned a car together, His parents thought it was mine and my parents thought it was his. We traveled the united states from corner to corner on social trips and 20 plus years of final 4 basketball tornaments. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Ted was my first boss at the washing well and taught me several valuable lessons on accountability and responsibility when I was a young man. I will always keep him in my thoughts.

Ted was one of my best friends in life, even though we were separated by long distances for nearly 50 years. We stayed in touch--I was able to attend several of his traditional New Year's Eve parties at his home on Lake Huron, He came to the weddings of my sons and visited me and my family on other occasions. I made it a point to visit Ted on my returns to Saginaw especially in the last seven or eight years as Alzheimer's disease ate at his brain and responsiveness. Throughout most of his illness Ted's remarkable sense of humor and wit stayed alive. In May of this year when he was rendered mostly incommunicado, I spent close to two hours with him talking about the fun times of our youth and stroking his arm and shoulder. Just prior to my departure, Ted opened his eyes which had remained mostly closed, looked me in the eye and pronounced my name. Few things in my life have ever touched me as deeply. As he was with all of his close friends, Ted was an unparalleled source of joy, fun, and above all laughter to me. I loved Ted and will miss him for the duration of my life.

Ted was a genuine and truly class guy. He always accepted challenges in a relaxed manner and found the right solutions which were accompanied by his never ending smiles. The picture in this obit says it all.

I knew Ted for many years beginning when we lived on Michigan Ave. where we would jump into laundry bags at a laundry(not sure if Ted's parents owned it or not). We both were classmates at Arthur Hill and had a great time. Ted was always cheerful and a pleasure to be associated with. I also graduated from CMU but not at the same year. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Ron Gage

I first met Ted through a mutual friend, Frank Zanner, and at first I felt as though I was in
real trouble. Ted's dry humor, and his calm, quiet demeanor, finally got to me, and I was really comfortable around him. I then met the rest of his buddies, and then I knew I was in trouble. Of course I am attempting to bring a little light hearted feeling to such a sad
occasion, but those of you who knew Ted, will agree with my thoughts. Ted will forever be missed by anyone he touched, and I am one who will always remember.
