Obituary of Virginia Adella Butt

BUTT, Virginia Adella of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on May 24, 1917 to the late Arthur S. and Ethel M. (Blankemeier) Butt and was 96 years old. Virginia was employed as a medical lab technician in Toledo and Chicago. She also worked for the Lutheran Church of America for several years. Virginia was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Lukes Hospital in the Pastoral Care Unit from 1982 - 1992. Virginia also liked traveling, reading and watching the Detroit Tigers. Surviving are her sister, Ruth Schneider of Saginaw; six nieces and nephews: Carole Cooper of East Tawas, Janet (Paul) Pahssen of Grayling, Ric (Kay) Cooper of Saginaw, Linda (Terry) Tomandl of Saginaw, Michael (Jenn) Cooper of Toledo OH, and Sandra (Buzz) Bremer of Saginaw; 10 great nieces and nephews; and seven great-great nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor; two brothers-in-law: Jay Cooper and Paul Schneider. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Jeff Bonn will officiate. In accordance with Virginia's wishes cremation will follow. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service.
