PANICO, Dominic Anthony "Uncle Tony", of Saginaw passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center. He was 87 years old. Dominic was born on February 26, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Gaetano and Charlotte (Scala) Panico. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. Dominic worked for the railroad, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. He enjoyed his cats, birds, gardening, playing aggravation and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Surviving are two sisters; Susan DiSarno and Mary (Richard) Tyra and many nieces, nephews and family. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister; Andrew and Carlo Panico and Virginia Whitney. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 2122 S. Jefferson St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Schmied OFMCap will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the church on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center, Palliative Care Unit.
