Obituary of Alvin Lee Rahn

RAHN, Alvin "Al" Lee of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. He was 79 years old. Alvin Lee Rahn was born on May 19, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Fredrick and Emma (Robinson) Rahn. He married Karen Anne Freeman on August 29, 1964; she survives him. Al graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1952. He went on to attend Saginaw Business Institute. His career led him into insurance sales. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, watching sports, Pinochle, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Karen; four daughters, Michele (Michael) Jacovitch, Danielle Lavigne, Jennifer (Kelly) Kellett, and Heather (Jason) McLean; 10 grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Lois Coulson, Ruth (Arthur) Howson, Chester (Bernie) Rahn and Kenneth Rahn. Also surviving are many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fredrick Rahn. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd, 48603. Rev. Fr. William Rutkowski will officiate. Cremation will follow. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Al will be taken to church to lie in state on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
