Obituary of Sybil E. Hollingsworth

HOLLINGSWORTH, Sybil Eleanor of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Francis Home. She was 90 years old. Sybil E. LaLonde was born on September 4, 1922 on the family farm in Standish, Michigan to the late Adolph and Hazel (Cooper) LaLonde. After graduating from school at the age of 16, Sybil eventually moved to Saginaw to live with her sister- and brother-in-law, Maxine and Joseph Bauer. She worked at a local tool and dye shop where she met her future husband of 55 years, Floyd Leo Hollingsworth. They were married in Standish on April 27, 1946. Sybil leaves to cherish her memory, seven children, Ann (Bill) Schluckbier, Floyd Jr. (Susan) Hollingsworth, John Hollingsworth, Bill Hollingsworth, Mike (friend, Sheila) Hollingsworth, Tom (Diane) Hollingsworth, and Jeff (Kim) Hollingsworth; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by sisters- and brothers-in-law, Bernice LaLonde, Agnes LaLonde, Marion (Rich) Sedwick, Ron (Gerry) Hollingsworth, Lionel (Mary) Hollingsworth, and Jerry (Norma) Hollingsworth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jane Rose; two sisters; two brothers; one grandson; and several sisters- and brothers-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Home for their loving care and attention for Sybil during her stay. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
