Obituary of Raymond Francis Cronk

CRONK, Raymond Francis "Bud", Sr. of Spaulding Township passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of June 20. He was 86. Bud was born on April 19, 1927 to the late George and Lillian (Provost) Cronk in Saginaw. He married Shirley Marks on May 13, 1950 in Saginaw where they lived the entirety of their 61 years together; she preceded him in January 2012. Bud was a straightforward man who enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as hunting, fishing, and carpentry. He worked as a mechanic and in maintenance, retiring from Vlasic Foods in Bridgeport. He was an active member and leader at the Alano Club for over 20 years. He enjoyed classic country music and delighted in traveling to Nashville and Branson with his wife and grandchildren. Surviving Ray are: two sons: Raymond F. (RaeAnn) Cronk, Jr., and Steven G. (Julie) Cronk; four grandchildren: Raymond F. Cronk III, Randall J. (Candice) Cronk, Megan (Mark) Carey, and Jessica Cronk; and nine great grandchildren; he was preceded by one brother, Louis. VISITATION: Friends and family are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (at State) on Sunday June 23, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a remembrance hour held at 6:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Alano Club of Saginaw and/or Cartwright House.
