RIVETTE, Lorraine M. of Zilwaukee, Michigan passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities, surrounded by her family. She was 100 years old. Lorraine Summerfield was born on February 23, 1913 in Zilwaukee to the late Franklin and Minnie (Schroeder) Summerfield. She married Clarence J. Rivette on April 1, 1930 in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on October 7, 1980. Lorraine was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she was active on the Altar Society and Prayer Line. Further, she was proud to be "Zilwaukee's Oldest Living Resident." In Lorraine's spare time, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing Euchre, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are two sons, Frank (Mary Jane) and Richard (LouAnn); 34 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Beverly Rivette and Beulah Collison; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Rivette, Laura Rivette, and Lozamae Dietzler. She was preceded in death by husband of 50 years, Clarence J.; daughter and son-in-law, Lozamae and Jim Collison; son, Clarence D.; two grandsons; two brothers, Vernon and Lyle Summerfield; and one sister, Marcella Rivette. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stephie and her staff, at Caretel Inns, for all of the great care they gave to their mother. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 511 W. Cornell St., Saginaw 48604. Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Lorraine will lie in state at the church on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Zilwaukee Riverfront Improvement Project.
