Dear Libby,
I was only lucky enough to meet your awesome husband a few times, but what a sweet impression I remember. It was obvious he adored you (as we all do) and that you were true soul mates!
Love to you and your girls at this very difficult time.

Dear Washburns, one and all:
I only heard, with great shock, of Doug's passing a few days ago. Childhood memories are sometimes the strongest. Time spent in the vibrant Washburn Houshold certainly stands out well beyond most. Doug holding his own as the youngest, which I think may have helped to forge his wonderful wit, along with the fabulous gifts of humor that Carm and Helen passed along and ingrained in us all, is well remembered, and I am sure will be most missed by his family and friends.
May you find peace and comfort in your memories, they after all, are yours forever.

Kristen Washburn and Family,
In the short time that we have had the good fortune to work with Kristen at Orchard View High School she has honored her family by demonstrating the type of kindness and caring that are doubtless the hallmarks of the Washburn family. The professional, well prepared manner that Kristen has conducted herself with here at Orchard View is reflective of the same in her father. In this way we have all been influenced by not only her, but Mr. Washburn as well. We are all better for it. Love, thoughts and prayers from my family to yours.
Condolences,
Andrew Vandenberg and Family

For Kristen Washburn and family,
Kristen, in the short time I have known you, you have shown that your parents are people of excellent character. Through your actions and efforts at Orchard View High School you reflect the hopes of all parents that raise children to be kind contributing members of their community. I urge you and your family to fall back on what is obviously a strong, loving, and supportive group. My families thoughts, prayers, and love go out to you and yours in this most trying of times.
My deepest condolences,
Andrew Vandenberg and Family

I met Doug and Libby 25 years ago when I moved to Saginaw from Texas. The minute Doug opened his mouth and one witty comment after another came out, I knew I had met a friend for life. He was always fun to be around. He will truly be missed. My love goes out to Libby, Kailey, Kristen and Annie. I'm sorry I can't be there in person but I'm there in spirit. I love you guys.
XOXOXO

As a Saginaw Attorney, I had the opportunity to get to know Doug in a professional setting. What I will always remember the most was Doug's sense of humor and wit. This is a trait that is sometimes lacking in our profession. I always looked forward to having Doug represent the "other side". I will miss him very much. My condolences go out to his family during this very difficult time.

I am a lawyer in Saginaw. I had the pleasure of getting to know Doug as opposing counsel on a few cases over the years. I remember him to be a gifted attorney and was always highly respected and regarded by plaintiff lawyers and defense lawyers alike. The first thing that comes to mind when I think about Doug was that he always had a funny quick wit about him. Every time I saw him, he would always say something to make me laugh and lighten things up a little bit. A smile was almost always on his face. That is a wonderful gift for anyone to be blessed with. I know that he loved his family with all his heart, and my condolences go out to them during this difficult time.
