Obituary of Paul E. Hagen

HAGEN, Paul E. Jr. Saginaw, Michigan Paul Edward Hagen Jr. passed away peacefully December 27, 2020. Paul was born January 26, 1933 in Saginaw, the son of the late Paul Sr. and Mae (Henning) Hagen. On May 12, 1956, Paul married Sally A. Hagen, who graciously greets him in heaven. Paul was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for many years at GM Grey Iron Foundry. He enjoyed history and genealogy, spending time with his family, gardening, listening to Polka music, and his cottage on Lake Huron. Paul was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Parish in Saginaw. Most important to Paul was his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Paul is survived by his children: Colleen (Jim) Richmond, Nanette (Jim) Jozwiak, and Paul Hagen; grandchildren: Matthew (Kelly), Daniel, Megan (Michael), Hannah, Jordan, Jane, Josh, Spencer, and Andrew; great-grandchild: Hazel; brother: Leon (Connie); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his wife: Sally, a daughter: Mary Lynn Hagen, daughter-in-law: Terri Hagen, and siblings: George Hagen, Beverly Shourds and Darell Hagen. Friends and family are welcome to gather at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, MI 48609 on Wednesday, December 30, from 11:00 to 1:00 PM with a funeral liturgy following. Paul will be laid to rest in St. Andrew's Cemetery, with military honors provided under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #439. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required, social distancing, and gathering guidelines will be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude's or Holy Spirit Catholic Church will be appreciated.
