Obituary of James Carl Manning

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 56 years old. James Carl Manning was born on January 14, 1963 in Saginaw to Donald R. and Elaine J. (Crandall) Manning. James (Jim) attended St. Mary High School and then graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1981. Jim met and dated his love, Maureen A. Lemiesz for six years, marrying her on October 24, 1987. Jim worked in route delivery for Economy Dairy and then route salesman/driver for Arrow Uniform Rental, now known as Unifirst, for 29 years. He loved his fall bow-hunting vacation in Gladwin, spending time with many special friends. Jim loved camping, spending time at family gatherings, and tending to his yard and home.
Jim is survived by his wife, Maureen; daughters: Alexandria Anne (Andrew) Blank and Brittany Elizabeth (fiancé, Johnathon Starling) Manning; granddaughter, Lily Grace Blank and a grandson, Benjamin James Blank expected in December; mother, Elaine Manning; brothers and sisters: Kay (Kevin Mallon) Ferguson, Susan Gehrls, Donald Jr. (Cathy) Manning, Mary Jo (Patrick) McKenna, Daniel (Lori) Manning, Patricia (Jesus) Manning-Perez and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Donald R. Manning; brother, John P. Manning; sister, Connie L. Clark; Grandparents Thomas and Leora "Mutzie" Manning; and James and Millie Crandall; as well as his infant niece, Christy Kay Manning.
FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Jim will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt St., Saginaw MI 48607. Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 5-9pm. A Vigil service will be held at 7pm. Visitation will continue at the Cathedral on September 21, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
