Marjorie went home to Jesus on Saturday morning, August 31, 2019. She was born on November 16, 1922 in Binghamton, New York, the daughter of Harry and Kathleen (Cook) Keyes. Marge was one of a handful of female World War II veterans remaining in Michigan. She met her husband, Charles J. Shea Jr., while both were serving in the United States Army during the war. After the war, they returned to Charlie's hometown of Saginaw to raise their family. Marge helped with the family business, Shea Funeral Home, with Charlie and his brother William F. Shea. Marge was a strong-willed, independent woman who liked pizza, caramel sundaes, cookies, exercising, going to lunch with her friends, wearing funny socks, driving fast in her car, patriotic songs, drinking coffee and going to church with her family. Marge is survived by her daughter Kerry King; grandchildren: Kevin King, Jennifer (Jason) Long, Shea (Steve) Lampi, Kevin (Jessica) Stelter and Erin (John) Dolbee; great grandchildren: McKenna, Ryan and Ethan Long, Greyson, Jacob, Kate and Blake Lampi, Noah Stelter and Ava Dolbee; sons-in-law: William Stelter, Dale Brasseur; several nieces and nephews including Patricia Shea Holys. In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Shea Jr., infant son Charles J. Shea III, son Kevin Shea, daughters Maureen Stelter and Kathleen Brasseur; siblings: Richard, John, Frank and Beverly Keyes. Special thanks to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Grace Hospice for the wonderful care Marge received during her final months. FUNERAL: A graveside funeral service will take place on Friday September 6, 2019 at 11:30 AM from Mount Olivet Cemetery (Shea family plot). VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Shea family plot in Mount Olivet Cemetery at 11:00 AM until the time of services.
