Rob passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 61 years old. Robert Lee Tubb was born on July 1, 1958 in Saginaw to James Earl Sr. and Barbara Jean (Bigger) Tubb. As a young man he loved to play sports including football and baseball, and graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1976. He met his sweetheart, Deborah M. Tyra, at Brockway Roller Rink and they were married on April 16, 1977. Rob worked for Nickodemus Oil, Great Lakes Petroleum and lastly Brenner Oil, retiring in 2019. Everyone that met Rob loved him. You were always greeted with a big bear hug, and a huge smile. His gentle spirit will be greatly missed by his many friends at the Eagles Club #33 and Saginaw Moose Lodge #82, where he served as Junior Governor and received the 1st place Division B Endowment Fund for Mooseheart, dedicated in his name. Rob's warm and passionate personality was seen in all the activities that he enjoyed including singing karaoke, playing golf, camping, spending time with his horses and cooking for an army on Sunday when he spent time with his family and friends.
Rob will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Deb; sons: Robert Jr. (Jamie) Tubb and Phillip (Tiffany) Tubb; grandchildren: Bethany, Cody, Leslie, Michael, Natalie and Lauren; a great granddaughter, Gabriella Marie and a great grandson, Ares Lee, expected in October; mother, Barbara Jean Stolte; brothers: James Earl Jr. (Pamela) Tubb, Mark (Linda) Tubb and David Stolte; sisters: Shirley Ragsdale and Patti (Doug) Lewis-Born; mother-in-law, Mary A. Tyra; and many extended family and friends.
Rob was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie C.A. Tubb; father, James Earl Tubb Sr.; brother, John Stolte; sister, Jeanann Tubb; brother-in-law, Mark Ragsdale and father-in-law, Richard Tyra.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy for Rob will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish - St. Andrew Catholic Church, 612 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.; Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
