Obituary of Julia Ann Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Julia Ann of Saginaw passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at St. Francis Home. She was 82 years old. Julia Ann LeRoux was born on June 2, 1932 in Saginaw, MI to the late Joseph B. and Hattie A. (Dierich) LeRoux. She married Donald G. Armstrong on May 30, 1952 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1985. Julia was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She worked at St. Lukes Hospital for 25 years as an admitting clerk. Julia shared her love of artistry, creating miniature houses and settings and was a member and past president of the Tri City Miniature Club. She also loved cake decorating which included many wedding and birthday cakes, painting ceramics and china. Throughout her years she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children: Thomas (Laura) Armstrong, Carol (John) Beckert , Steven (Jean) Armstrong, Matt Armstrong, Greg (Maggie) Armstrong and Michael Armstrong; daughter-in-law, Jean Armstrong; grandchildren: Nicholas, Zachary, Brian (Jesse), Josh, Jacob, Trisha, Ethan and Conner Armstrong, Tracy, Stephanie and John Beckert; great grandchildren: Hailee, Cole, Rilen and Zoey; sister, Suzanne (Vito) Surian; brother-in-law, James Nowosatka; many nieces, nephews , extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Donald Armstrong and a sister, Rosalee Nowosatka.
FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Dombrowski will officiate. Cremation will follow and private burial will be held at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. lead by Barb and Alex Malocha. Julia will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
