Obituary of Francis Street

STREET, Francis "Bud" J. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. He was 95 years old. Francis John Street, Jr. was born on January 18, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Francis J. Sr. and Emma V. (Wolfgang) Street. He married Kathleen Bacon on August 4, 1945; she survives him. Bud graduated from Arthur Hill Tech with the Class of 1937. He then joined the United States Air Force and retired from active duty after 20 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1963. He was a Disabled American Veteran. After his honorable retirement, he then began his career for General Motors as a machine repairman, retiring after 21 years of service in 1986. Bud enjoyed fishing in his earlier years, reading, and was handy in many skilled trades. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Kathleen; daughter, Marsha (Donald) Mazany; son, Stewart Street; one granddaughter, Cadence Mazany; and sister, Evelyn Cichowski. Bud was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Cecille Guarnes and to the staff on floor 7 (ICU) at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. SERVICE: Graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 950 Center Road. Rev. Paul R. Hinz will officiate. Entombment of cremated remains will follow. Mausoleum military honors will take place under the auspices of the American Legion Post # 439.
