Obituary
Brisbois, Dr. Bernard 3/27/1936 - 3/31/2026
Dr. Bernard (Bernie) Brisbois, 90, of Saginaw, and Charlevoix, MI, entered into his heavenly home on March 31, 2026. He was born on March 27, 1936 in Saginaw, MI, the only child of Ben and Leona Brisbois.
On July 20, 1968 Bernie married Mary at her parents’ home on the sandy shores of Lake Charlevoix. She predeceased him on June 30, 2021.
Bernie graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1954, Alma College in 1958, and the University of Michigan Dental School in 1962, where he became an avid U of M fan.
He served as a dedicated dentist in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1964, and practiced dentistry in Saginaw for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. He and Mary spent summers in Charlevoix, MI, and winters in Florida for many years.
If he wasn’t fixing something or caring for his white conversion van he affectionately called his baby, you could find Bernie on the golf course, which was his happy place. Bernie was delighted to share about his Labor Day tournament years and his many hole-in-one stories. Even with dementia, he was eager for his weekly round of golf with son-in-law Andre.
Bernie is survived by children Ann Marie (Rob) Pieschke, Carol (Mike) Rothenberg, Mike (Trisha) Brisbois, Amy (Andre) Steinke, Lynn (Carl) Donato and Pam (John) Liccardello; grandchildren, Robbie (Angie) Pieschke, Andrew (Courtney) Pieschke, Kevin (Allie) Pieschke, Mark (Christie) Rothenberg, Kirstie (Chad) Rogers, Kayla (Adam) Schiller, Ben (Sara) Brisbois, Kellsie Brisbois, Jonathan (Meghan) Shillington, Georgia Shillington, Bowen Steinke, Asher Steinke, Katie (Ben) Jones, Nick (Ashley) Carriero, Jacob (Jenna) Liccardello, Joshua Liccardello, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Per Bernie’s request, the family will hold a private celebration of his life this summer at the Greenwood Cemetery Scattering Garden overlooking beautiful Little Traverse Bay.
A special thank you to the caring staff at the Saginaw Wellspring Campuses, and the Wellspring Hospice team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
