Passed away at her residence on Sunday morning, March 1, 2026, at the age of 83. Wynette Clara Elwell was born August 11, 1942, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Forest and Clara (Hutchins) Elwell. She graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1960 and went on to build a dedicated career with General Motors, where she worked as an accountant for 30 years before retiring in 1996. On May 1, 2000, she married Gerald Claus in Saginaw.

Wynette found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, and crocheting. Her creativity and quiet talents brought beauty and warmth to those around her.

She is survived by her son, Scott Morton of Grand Blanc, along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Wynette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Claus; her sister, Sue Allen; and her brother, Elwood Elwell.

In keeping with Wynette’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
