Obituary of Peter Ray Brown

Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandpa and great great grandpa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Meadows on McCarty – Saginaw. He was 99 years old. Peter Ray Brown was born on April 14, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to Ray and Mary Ann (Carpenter) Brown. He graduated from Davison High School in 1944. Peter worked in heavy equipment and construction for several years, was a professional truck driver, salesman and then owned and operated P&T Filter Sales in Palmetto, Florida. He enjoyed many years at Sand Lake, and worked at Napa Sales and served as a Deputy Sherriff for Iosco County. Peter was married to Mary Lou Spafford in 1946 and they celebrated 78 years together until her passing in 2023.

Peter is survived by three children: Rick (Colleen) Brown, Katherine Ann Smith and Thom Brown; grandchildren: Mary, Richelle, Rick Jr., Lisa, Rick, Thom and Cyndy; many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; extended family and dear friends.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou; son-in-law, Jim Smith; daughter-in-law, Jackie Brown; sister, Peggy Miller and grandson, Thom Brown.
