Obituary of R. Patrick Flynn
FLYNN, R. Patrick (Pat) of Saginaw, MI passed away on Monday January 12, 2026. He was 91 years old. Pat was born on August 11, 1934, in Saginaw to the late Edward and Renas (Madden) Flynn. He married Constance Weiland on February 11, 1961, in Saginaw. She predeceased him on May 22, 2011. He served in the Army and worked for General Motors for 28 years. After his retirement from General Motors, he began a 2nd career in Travel. He traveled the world extensively. Ireland held a special place in he and Connie’s heart. During his 2nd act in travel, he led 27 excursions with many friends to Ireland. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Boysville of Michigan, and a volunteer at the East Side Soup Kitchen. Pat enjoyed family get togethers, playing golf, and many grand times at lunches with the Lads.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter: Daniel J. Flynn, Rochester Hills, MI, Kelly A. Flynn, Rochester Hills, MI, and Michael P. (Monica) Flynn of Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren: Casey, Sean, Oliver, Audrey, Gates, and Shelby; sister, Mary Jane McBain; two sisters-in-law; Cathy Loiacano and Diane Weiland.
Pat was predeceased by his parents, his two brothers, Ed and Frank, his brothers-in-law: Jerry Weiland, Al McBain, Bud Meier, Bill Loiacano, sisters-in-laws; Maxine Flynn and Carol Meier. Pat’s family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the care givers and staff at Independence Village.
FUNERAL: A memorial mass celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday January 16, 2026 at St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen Site, 1310 Malzahn St. Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off of State St) on Thursday January 15, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
