Obituary of Faith A. McKinstry
McKinstry, Faith A. “Faye”
Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Covenant HealthCare – Harrison. She was 72 years old. Faith Anne Dukas was born February 15, 1953, to Nicholas and Christine (Hawkins) Dukas in Flint, Michigan. She met Gene R. McKinstry, Sr., through a mutual friend. Their relationship flourished and they married on July 13, 1977. Together they shared 48 years of marriage until Gene’s passing in August of 2025. She loved playing softball, bowling, and bingo, taking trips to the casino, and watching her children and grandchildren participate in their sports and activities. Faye was their biggest fan, always cheering proudly from the sidelines. She loved living in Lakeland, Florida, especially wearing flip-flops, and enjoyed working at The Home Depot during her time there. Throughout her life, she never met a stranger, was deeply devoted to caring for her family and friends, and took great pride in celebrating her Greek heritage.
Faye will be deeply missed by her children, Heather (Paul) Bruci, Kristopher McKinstry, Gene Jr. (Kelly) McKinstry, Timothy (Deborah) McKinstry and Jeffrey (Traci) McKinstry; grandchildren, Caleb Gross, Chelsea McKinstry, Tyler McKinstry, and Kaden Radka; brothers: Nick Paul Dukas and Harry Dukas; step-siblings: Randy (Debra) Scott, Jeff (Wendy) Scott and Lori (Mike) Rittenberry; brother-in-law, Kyle Muscott; special nieces, MaryAnn, Nancy and Kathy; nieces and nephews: Ashley, Andrew, Missy and Keith; and many extended family, dear friends, trusted caregivers and her furry companions: Sammy (The St. Bernard), Tigger, Buffy, Scruffy, Harold, Grace, Poochie (CiCi), and many grand-pups.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene R. McKinstry Sr.; infant sister, Michelle Dukas; brother, Kenneth Dukas; brothers-in-law, William (Pat) McKinstry and Keith (Mary) McKinstry; sisters-in-law, Diane (Robert) Pattison, Joyce (Clarence) Dupuis, Michele Dukas and Kerren “June” Muscott; infant niece, Tasha Dukas.
