Obituary of Joanne Finazzi

 

Joanne Finazzi, a proud grandmother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 16th, 2025, at Symphony Tri-Cities in Bay City. She was 85 years old.

Joanne VanConett was born on May 23rd, 1940, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Earl and Dorothy (Law) VanConett. She graduated from Saginaw High School in June of 1958. She was later united in marriage to William Finazzi on August 24th, 1985, in Saginaw, Michigan; and shared over 30 years of marriage before his passing.

Joanne enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including going out to dinner and taking trips to the casino. She was an avid hockey fan and loved watching the Detroit Red Wings on television. Known for her sense of style and pride in her appearance, Joanne always made sure she was dressed nicely and had her hair done before leaving the house. Above all else, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, Hanna and Ryan, who brought her immense joy.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Dale VanConett; grandchildren, Hanna VanConett and Ryan VanConett; her good friend, Connie Glynn; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Finazzi; her son, Jeffrey VanConett; and her daughter, Jill Ulrey.

In keeping with Joanne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
