Obituary of Kathy B. (Boswell) DeWeese

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 69 years old. Kathy Bellane Boswell was born on April 8, 1956 in Flint, Michigan to John and Marion (Dunning) Boswell. Kathy grew up in Montrose and graduated from Hill-McCloy High School in 1974. Kathy worked at General Motors – Steering Gear for many years and retired from there. Kathy loved her grandchildren with her whole heart. She loved baking and working on puzzles with her husband. She also loved making her “special” oil that she said was a cure for any ailment or pain you could have, her special cure for EVERYTHING! She was Grandma to all and affectionately known as the “Grandma of the neighborhood”. 

She is survived by her husband, Steve DeWeese; daughter, Christine Perez; son, John Ryan DePotty; grandchildren: Brittney Markva, Kirsten Markva, Tyler Markva, Amarianna Ramon, Estavon Camero, Enrique Camero and Angel; great grandchildren: Areigha “Sunshine”, Havier, Paisley, Heaven, Ashlynn, Ensley and Emily; step-children, Stephen P Deweese ll and Stephanie J Deweese (Ed) Selkis; step-grandchildren: Zac Deweese, Annabell (Charley) and Paul; brother, Keith (Barb) Boswell; several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Claire Ann Carless; and her brother, Marvin Eugene "Gene" Boswell.

In keeping with Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2025. Celia Delgado will officiate. Family and friends will visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
