Our beloved sister, aunt, and dear friend passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Shields Comfort Care, Saginaw. She was 72 years old. Karen Louise Clayton was born on March 12, 1953 in Saginaw to John Randall II and Mary Louise (Salget) Clayton. Karen graduated from SS. Peter and Paul High School in 1971. She started her career at Saginaw General, Covenant and St. Mary Hospital working through many positions including secretary, purchasing and medical transcriptionist. Karen was an early recycler having a huge heart for nature. She enjoyed spending many hours camping and up north at the firetrails in Glennie, Tawas and throughout Michigan. Karen was passionate about animals and rescuing many dogs and never leaving a stray cat behind.
Karen will be deeply missed by her siblings: Michael (Janet) Clayton, Connie Cunningham, Colleen (Paul) Southwell and Paul (Toni) Clayton; nieces and nephews: Steven (Raquel) Clayton, Scott (Jessica) Clayton, Laurie Clayton, Tyler Johnson, Jason (Lisa) White, Angela (Jon) Rice, Adam (Nicole) White, Aaron (Christopher Germain) White, Jordan (Katy Buckley) White, Justin (Bri) White, Ryan (Savannah) Southwell, Bradley (Jennifer) Southwell, Austin Southwell, Jessica (Alex) Ancinec and Jenna (Brody) Babosh; many great nieces, great nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Robert Farver; sisters and brothers-in-law: Cathryn (Blake) Johnson, Christine White and Dan Cunningham; and niece, Kristen Johnson.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family and friends will gather on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Chuck Howley will officiate. Private burial will be at St. Andrew Cemetery.
