I met Rick in 10th grade at Saginaw High and graduated with him in 1969. I have a memory of Rick that I shall never forget: my best friend, Lynne White and I took my younger brother (Jim Blondin) to see a baseball game at Vet’s Stadium and Jim who was 4 years younger than I was being harassed by several young men. The adults in the snack area did nothing, but Rick and his friend Dennis came over and saved us. They then walked us almost to my house on Crapo Street. What good guys they both were. I held them in high regard. RIP, Rick.

I enjoyed working with Rick. He was caring and always willing to help others. He also had some great stories to tell about being a policeman above all he was a man of faith and devotion. He will truly be missed.
