Juanita Botello

Saginaw, Michigan

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. She was 87 years old. Juanita Espinosa was born on March 7, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas to Ceferino and Maria (Concemie) Espinosa.

Juanita worked for over 25 years at Vlasic Pickle, retiring after many years of dedicated service. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Saginaw, where her faith was central to her life. Juanita was a passionate bingo player, loved to dance, and enjoyed listening to Mexican music. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends, and her legacy of love, joy, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Juanita is survived by her children: Maria “Toni” Huerta, Joe (Amber) Botello, Betty Ruiz, Brenda Botello, Raquel (Antonio Hernandez IV) Botello and Clarence (Alesia) Jackson; son-in-law, Gerald Evans; 38 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ceferino and Maria Espinosa; step-father, Juan Campos; children, Maria Theresa Esparza, Alice Ann Evans, Christopher Botello, and Raymond (Shannon) Botello; sons-in-law, Cesario Huerta Jr. and Robert Ruiz; five grandsons, Christopher DeGrace, Ramon Botello, Alex Botello, De’Angelo Cerda and Terry Joe Botello; two granddaughters, Melissa Botello and Moncia Sarah Botello; great-grandchildren, Jessie Pena Jr. Garza and Alisia Merissa Pena; great-great-grandchildren, Jonathan Prickett Jr. and Athena Prickett; and siblings, Damiana “Helen” (Juan Jr.) Rosas, Juan Campos, and Robert (Adelita) Campos.

Funeral Service: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris OFM Cap will officiate.

Visitation: Family and friends are invited to visit at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m.
