Obituary of Billy J. Osborne Sr.
Our hardworking and loving husband, amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 83 years old. Billy Jerrell Osborne was born on March 22, 1942, in Arkansas, to Paul and Dorothy (Westbrook) Osborne. As a young boy, Billy moved with his family to the Saginaw area, where he graduated from Arthur Hill High School. After high school, Billy worked at Green Acres Shell Station and Vescio’s Grocery for several years, where he met the love of his life, Sue Ann Zientek.
Billy then began a long and successful career at General Motors Plant 6, where he worked in quality control and as a fork truck driver for over 37 years, retiring in 2000.
Billy had a passion for outdoor activities, particularly fishing in Canada, deer hunting, and golfing. He also gave back to his community, volunteering for over 40 years at Wanigas Credit Union, where he served on both the credit committee and the board of directors.
Billy will be remembered for his dedication, his love for his family, and his generosity in helping others.
Billy is survived by his wife, Sue Ann Osborne; son, Billy J. Osborne Jr.; grandchildren: Matthew (Katie) Lonsway, Christopher Osborne, Chad Osborne, Brent (Gabriell) Osborne and Breanna (Travis) Crager; 13 great grandchildren; siblings: Carol (Tom) Wells, Hollis “Bud” McCabe Jr., sister-in-law, Nit Swint; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Osborne and Dorothy Osborne McCabe Swint; his brother, Rick Swint; and his sister, Yvonne Jackson.
SERVICE: A funeral service for Billy will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Rick Milks will officiate with entombment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
VISTIATION: Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
