Obituary of Roger William Bowman

Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Roger Bowman, a devoted husband, father, and Papa Bear, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the age of 69. His unwavering strength, generosity, and adventurous spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. The son of Cyrus and Jane (Mulcahy) Bowman, Roger was born April 11, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Roger was the beloved husband of Dede, his partner in life and love. Together, they built a life full of laughter, connection, and cherished memories. As a father, he was a guiding force for Alice (RJ) and Jason, always leading by example with his unmatched work ethic and selflessness. Papa Bear- to his grandchildren, Connor, Aria, and Robbie; sister, Sue Bowman; and niece, Miche Bowman. He was a source of wisdom and support, ensuring they always knew how much they were loved.

Roger worked for years in construction and put himself through school. Eventually, earning a master’s degree in statistics. He enjoyed working in the lab and ultimately teaching. Roger also enjoyed travelling, camping, and cooking for his loved ones. His absence leaves a void in our hearts, but his legacy of love dedication and adventure will live on.

A man of the world, Roger sought adventure in every corner, experiencing new places, people, cultures, and flavors with an open heart and a healthy appetite. His passion for cooking and feeding the ones he loved curated the perfect moments in life— a good drink in hand, surrounded by great company and shared laughter from a well-timed (dirty) joke.

More than anything, Roger was a rock—strong, reliable, and dependable. He worked harder and longer than most, but always for the well-being of those he held dear. He was the first to lend a hand, the last to leave when help was needed, and the kind of man who never asked for recognition but deserved it more than most.

Roger was, simply put, one of a kind. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his legacy of love, dedication, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
