Our beloved son, partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 69 years old. Kenneth Edward Newman Jr. was born on December 9, 1952 in Saginaw, MI to Kenneth E. Sr. and Gladys (Rohn) Newman. Ken attended SS. Peter and Paul High School, and then joined the National Guard. He was activated and then served with the United States Army in Germany. Ken was a drywaller by trade and a member with the Carpenters Union of Detroit. He was a Good O’Boy, always sharing his happy spirit and making many wonderful memories with his family and friends.
Ken is survived by his lifelong love, Lois E. Toth; daughters: Amy (Steve) Ryll and Kristie (Scott) Brandell; grandchildren: Annabelle Ferris, Brandon and Tyler Ryll; three step-children: Tabatha Zizumbo, Chad (Carrie) Toth and Michael J. Toth; step-grandchildren, Leah (John) Babinski, Faith Christian, Samantha Christian, Seth, Logan, Evan, True Cameron and Ethan Toth; mother, Gladys E. Newman; siblings: Karen (Joseph) York, Gail Becker, Dennis (Sharon) Newman and Scott (Gretchen) Newman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth E. Newman Sr.; brother-in-law, Charles Becker; and his step-son, Paul Christian.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate Ken’s life together this summer.
