ROCHA, Paula of Saginaw. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. She was 85 years old. Paula Hernandez was born on June 7, 1926 to the late Modesto and Carmen (Anguiano) Hernandez. She married John J. Rocha on November 24, 1956 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1995. Paula was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Damas de Guadalupe. Above all, she loved and cherished her family and friends. She truly enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, cooking and reading. Paula is survived by her three sons and her daughter: John (Maria) Rocha, Carmen (Thomas) Soria, Louis (Lynn) Rocha all of Saginaw, and Tony (Roberta) Rocha of Freeland; 10 grandchildren: Tommy (Jennifer), Elena and Michael Soria, Johnny, Jason and Adam Rocha, Hayley and Vasey Rocha, Dominic and Bridget Rocha; three great grandchildren: Lillian and Jason Rocha, and Diego Soria; a brother, Guadalupe (Juanita) Hernandez; her nieces and nephews; and many near and dear family and friends in León, GTO, Mexico. Two sisters preceded her in death: Felipa Guevarra and Francisca Martinez. Paula's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Covenant CCU for the exceptional care that was provided to her. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. Sixth St. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A vigil service for Paula will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Paula will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
